Why CP pallets exist

Chemical and plastics plants run automated filling lines, conveyors and high-bay warehouses. Euro and industrial pallets did not always suit these systems or the heavy, bagged and drummed products they handle. The CP standard set nine fixed formats so pallets from different suppliers behave the same on the same equipment.

Since 2018, EPAL also certifies CP pallets under its quality scheme, which adds independent quality control to the standard dimensions.

CP pallets compared with euro and industrial pallets

  • CP2 shares the 1200 × 800 mm footprint of the euro pallet, but is built for chemical loads.
  • CP1 and CP6 share the 1200 × 1000 mm footprint of the industrial pallet.
  • CP3, CP8 and CP9 are square formats with no euro equivalent.
