The size of a pallet decides how it fits in trucks, racks and containers. This chart lists the standard pallet dimensions used in Europe and worldwide, with heights, weights and typical uses.

Quick answer: The standard euro pallet measures 1200 × 800 × 144 mm. The industrial pallet measures 1200 × 1000 mm, and the half pallet 800 × 600 mm. Outside Europe, the ISO standard lists six sizes, including 1219 × 1016 mm (48 × 40 in) in North America and 1100 × 1100 mm in Asia.

How to choose the right pallet size

Start from your product and your transport, not from the pallet. The right size is the one that carries your goods without overhang and fills your trucks and racks with the least wasted space.

Retail and road transport in Europe: the euro pallet fits 33 to a 13.6 m trailer.
Wide, heavy or bagged goods: the industrial pallet gives 25% more deck area.
Chemicals and plastics: the CP pallet your plant or customer specifies.
Shop-floor displays: the half pallet.
Anything else: a custom pallet built to your dimensions.

Pallet dimension questions

What are the dimensions of a euro pallet?

A euro pallet (EPAL 1) measures 1200 × 800 mm and is 144 mm high. It weighs about 25 kg.

What size is an industrial pallet?

1200 × 1000 mm. The EPAL 2 version is 162 mm high; the EPAL 3 version (1000 × 1200 mm) is 144 mm high.

What is the standard pallet size in the USA?

The most common North American pallet is 48 × 40 inches (1219 × 1016 mm), also known as the GMA pallet.

What size is a half pallet?

800 × 600 mm, exactly half of a euro pallet.
