What is a euro pallet?
The euro pallet is the standard four-way block pallet used for road transport and storage across Europe. Its 1200 × 800 mm footprint fits a 13.6 m trailer perfectly: 33 pallets in a single layer. Pallets built and inspected under the EPAL licence carry the EPAL mark and can be exchanged in the open pallet pool.
Not every 1200 × 800 mm pallet is an EPAL pallet. Unbranded euro-size pallets have the same footprint but no exchange value, which makes them a cost-effective choice for one-way shipments and internal storage.
Which one do you need?
- Pallet exchange or retail distribution centres: EPAL euro pallets.
- Automated warehouses and food or pharma loads: new euro pallets.
- One-way shipments and storage: used or reconditioned euro pallets.
- Exports outside the EU: heat-treated pallets (ISPM 15).
